White Oak District prides it self on Strong, Well Trained, and Enthusiastic Adult Leaders. These leaders are guided by a equally strong, and trained set of Commissioners; district and council leaders who help Scout units be successful and well rounded to provide the youth the best experience in the area.
Commissioners are district and council leaders who help all Scout units succeed. They coach and consult with the leaders of Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, and Venturing crews. Commissioners help to maintain the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America. They also oversee the unit charter renewal plan so that each unit re-registers with an optimum number of youth and adult members.
The commissioner service is looking for men and women volunteers who would like to serve Scouting by sharing their knowledge and experience with other Scouters. Successful Scout units do not just happen. They are made by leaders who are trained, coached, and counseled along the way by those who have gone before them.
Commissioners help you to learn how to be a Scout leader so you know how important it is to have guidance in developing a successful pack, troop, or crew. You have the opportunity to help other leaders be successful by service as a unit commissioner. By helping leaders build strong units you will be ensuring that the values of Scouting are brought effectively to more and more youth.

District Commissioner Meeting: 4th Tuesday at Dunkin Doughnuts on Western Blvd; at 7:00 pm
